CAUSE is a union of educators and support staff professionals. We are the sole representative for employee voices and experiences in the CUSD.

CAUSE comprises approximately 200 members: teachers, Librarians, Instructional Aides, Food Service Workers, Bus Drivers, Custodians, School Counselors, Maintenance Workers, etc.

In California, our local is affiliated with its regional AFL-CIO Central Labor Council and the statewide California Labor Federation.

Nationally, CAUSE is affiliated with the 1.7 million member American Federation of Teachers, and through it with the AFL-CIO, representing more than 12.5 million working people
